Our cooking classes are taught by our two Registered Dietitians. They are whole foods based and utilize seasonal and local ingredients whenever possible.
We will help you learn how to incorporate delicious, healthy meals into your life through our informative, fun classes!

Cool Inflammation with Food
Inflammation within the body is linked to many common diseases, including heart disease, some types of cancer, and Alzheimer’s. The best defense against inflammation is diet. Anti-inflammatory foods contain compounds that can prevent or decrease inflammation. Learn how different foods influence the inflammatory process, the difference between pro- and anti-inflammatory foods, and the best preparation techniques. Sample delicious recipes that help prevent inflammation: Roasted Cabbage Wedge Salad, Rainbow Quinoa, Nori Wrapped Salmon and Chia Pudding. Cost: $50/person.

Juicing and Smoothies
Join Holistic Health Coach, Abby Bliss White, for a class that teaches the basics of juicing and smoothie making! This workshop will introduce you to the world of juicing and smoothies that will change the way you feel on the inside and look on the outside. You will learn the differences between juicing and blending as well as the benefits of both. Juice and smoothies are a great way to incorporate fresh fruits and veggies into your daily diet. Participants will receive 2 samples of juice and 2 samples of smoothies plus recipes to take home. You will leave energized, inspired and refreshed. Price: $20

Vegan Vitality-NEW MENU!!!
Research suggests that adopting a vegan diet can be one of the most healthful ways to eat. While following this diet isn’t for everyone, limiting your overall intake of animal based foods can protect against numerous health concerns, promote longevity and help the environment. Learn how to make delicious vegan fare that is both seasonal and satisfying. A Sweet Life Without Sugar
If you want to get off sugar once for for all, this talk is for you. Joan Miller will show you a way out of the sugar jungle that does not leave you feeling deprived, but rather delightfully satisfied. These desserts are also 100% gluten free. Joan, an author of two books on healthy eating, has more than 30 years experience researching and teaching. She believes, “Happy people live longest, so why not make your desserts with ingredients that support health, rather than deplete it.” Please join us for a seminar and dessert tasting. Pizza Party
Come learn how pizza can be a balanced, healthy meal that can be put together in less time than it takes for delivery. Learn to make and store plain and whole wheat pizza dough. Discover the magic of the pressure cooker to prepare Indian-style chicken curry in a snap (recipe will include non-pressure method, too)! The best way to stay warm during the Portland rainy season is to curl up with a nourishing bowl of homemade soup. Cozy up inside and fill your house with delicious aromas. Learn how to create one pot meals that can feed you for several days. This warming menu includes: Shrimp Bisque, Miso Soup, Ribolitta and Pressure Cooker Beef Stew. Contains gluten, meat, seafood and dairy. Cost: $50/person
Breads and Spreads
There are few activities more therapeutic than making homemade bread from start to finish. Though a time commitment, the process is simple. The reward is clear when the smell begins to permeate the room. Store bought bread is often loaded with artificial preservatives, additives, and hidden sugar. Join us for a nourishing evening of mixing, kneading, rising, baking, and tasting. All breads will be paired with nutritious spreads that will transform a slice of bread into a balanced snack or meal. You will sample Whole Grain Sandwich Bread, Gluten Free Flatbread and Oatmeal Whole Wheat Quick Bread. Spreads include Herbed Goat Cheese Spread, Olive Tapenade, White Bean Hummus and Honey Cinnamon Butter. Contains gluten, dairy, and eggs. Cost: $50/person.
Cooking Allergen-Free
Join our dietitians to learn how to prepare delicious meals that are free from the most common food allergens: gluten, dairy, eggs, soy, tree nuts, and fish/shellfish. This cooking class will inspire you to expand your culinary horizons by adding new foods and preparation strategies. Living with a food allergy or sensitivity does not have to limit your pleasure of food! Taste our Vegetable Spring Rolls with Smoked Paprika Sauce, Tamarind Chickpeas over Coconut Lemongrass Rice, and Fruit Cobbler. You won’t leave hungry! With no dairy, eggs, meat, fish/shellfish, soy or gluten. Cost: $50/person.
Going Gluten Free
Those with a gluten sensitivity find that eliminating gluten from the diet greatly improves health. Learn how to cook with gluten free grains and obtain the skills to navigate the aisle of the grocery store with confidence. This delicious gluten free menu includes: Amaranth corn chowder, Quinoa polenta with Butter Bean Saute and Mini Gingerbread Cakes. Note: This is not a certified gluten-free kitchen and items in this class may be made on shared equipment. Contains dairy and eggs. Cost: $50/person
