Recipe: Gingerbread Cookies

This is our go to recipe for gingerbread cookies. It’s so easy to make, a great one for kids to help with and relatively low in added sugar. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Ingredients

1/4 cup softened butter

1 cup whole wheat flour

1/2 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp ground ginger

pinch of salt

2 tbsp maple syrup

2 tbsp molasses

2 tbsp milk

Directions:

Mix everything together in a large bowl with your hands. Pat into a disc, wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 10 minutes.

Preheat oven to 370 degress.

Remove from fridge, place in between two pieces of parchment paper and roll out into 1/4 inch thick.

Cut out cookies with cookie cutters (should make about 16-20), place on baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes. Let cool on rack and decorate!
