Recipe: Magic Sauce

Post by Olivia Martino, Registered Dietitian and Owner, Nourish Northwest

I was just talking with a nutrition client today about the concept of making a grain, a protein and some veggies on the weekend and then combining throughout the week to make bowls.  The key to not getting board with this method is all in the sauce, however, with this simple recipe for my favorite sauce, i can’t imagine how you would ever get sick of it.  Made up of what I believe should all be kitchen staples, this sauce is super versatile and works well on anything from roasted veggies to salads.  You’ll be hooked!

Magic Sauce

Ingredients

1/4 cup tahini

2 tablespoons rice wine vinegar

1 tablespoon mellow white miso

1 tablespoon Tamari

Pinch of crushed red pepper flakes

1/4 cup water

Preparation

Place of the dressing ingredients in a food processor to blend.  Alternatively you can put in a mason jar and shake vigorously to combine, although the miso is sometimes hard to dissolve. Taste and adjust seasonings if needed.
